SVdP Clothing Assistance Programs

At St. Vincent de Paul, we believe access to clean, well-fitting clothing is essential to dignity, confidence, and everyday stability. Our clothing assistance programs serve individuals and families across Trumbull County by meeting immediate needs while also supporting long-term progress.

Whether preparing for a new job, keeping children warm in the winter, or ensuring families have access to affordable clothing, each program is rooted in compassion and designed to walk alongside our neighbors as they move forward.

CARES Clothing Room

The CARES Clothing Room on Niles Road in Warren provides free clothing and basic essentials to individuals and families in need throughout Trumbull County.

Open Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., CARES offers a welcoming, dignified space where neighbors can receive clothing, shoes, coats, blankets, and other everyday necessities.

From work uniforms and back-to-school outfits to warm winter items and EMPWR Sleeping Bag Coats for unhoused individuals, CARES helps meet immediate needs while restoring confidence, comfort, and hope.

To Receive Clothing

To receive clothing, participants are asked to bring the following:

  • A valid state-issued photo ID
  • Proof of residence in Trumbull County.
  • For children, proof of guardianship (such as a birth certificate, medical card, or SNAP benefit documentation) is also required.

We know asking for help isn’t always easy – but at the CARES Clothing Room, everyone is welcomed with kindness. Here, we don’t just offer clothing; we offer dignity, compassion, and a reminder that no one is alone.

First Impressions
Work Appropriate Dress Program

At St. Vincent de Paul, we know confidence can open doors – but having the right clothing can be what helps someone walk through them. The First Impressions program supports individuals who are ready to take the next step toward employment by providing professional attire, interview preparation, and one-on-one guidance.

Whether someone is preparing for their first interview, returning to the workforce, or starting a new job, we help ensure they have what they need to show up with confidence and dignity. Through partnerships with Ready2Work and other community programs, participants receive both practical support and encouragement as they move forward.

If you or someone you know is ready to take that next step,

Winter Coat
Distributions

Each year, St. Vincent de Paul helps ensure that no one in our community faces the winter months without protection from the cold. Through our Annual Winter Coat Distribution, we provide new and gently used coats to children, adults, and seniors who might otherwise go without.

For many families, a warm coat is not a seasonal extra – it is essential. This program helps neighbors stay safe, healthy, and able to continue their daily routines during Northeast Ohio’s harsh winter conditions.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, this effort brings warmth, comfort, and peace of mind to hundreds of individuals each year.

SVdP Thrift Store
Affordable Clothing

Our SVdP Thrift & Furniture Store is more than a place to shop—it is a social enterprise that strengthens our entire community. By offering affordable, quality clothing and household items, the store ensures that individuals and families have access to what they need at prices they can afford.

At the same time, every purchase and donation directly supports our mission. All proceeds generated through the thrift store are reinvested into SVdP programs, helping provide critical assistance to more than 26,743 neighbors in need each year.

In 2025 alone, the thrift store served more than 32,000 customers, demonstrating the vital role it plays in both meeting basic needs and sustaining the services our community depends on. To learn more about shopping, donating, or getting involved, we invite you to visit our Thrift Store page.
