SVdP Food Assistance Programs

At SVdP Northeast Ohio, we work every day to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. Our food assistance programs provide consistent, nutritious support to children, seniors, and families across our community, meeting immediate needs while offering connection, dignity, and care.

From daily hot meals to pantry support and community distributions, each program is designed to walk alongside our neighbors during difficult times and help create a path toward greater stability.

Daily Meal Service

At SVdP Northeast Ohio, we believe a meal is more than nourishment—it is a moment of care, connection, and dignity. Through our Daily Meal Service, we provide nutritious, home-cooked meals to children, seniors, and families in our community.

Meals are served Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Nick Parilla Dining Hall in Warren. All meals are offered through curbside carryout—no questions asked. For many of our neighbors, this may be the only meal they receive that day.

Meals Made with Love

This work is made possible by a dedicated community of volunteers who give their time each day to prepare and serve meals with care. More than 250+ volunteers from many different faith and business groups – not just catholic groups – contributed 21,280 hours in 2025 alone, helping provide an average of 450+ meals each day. Their compassion is at the heart of every meal served.

More than a meal, this service offers a sense of welcome and belonging. Each person is met with kindness and respect, ensuring that everyone who comes to us is seen, supported, and cared for.

SVdP Conference
Food Pantries

Four of our Local SVdP Conferences operate food pantries dedicated to supporting their local neighbors in need. These pantries provide essential groceries and household staples, helping to ease the burden of food scarcity and ensuring that no one in our community goes without the basic necessities.

We understand that each person’s situation is unique, so our pantries aim to offer compassionate, personalized support in a welcoming and respectful environment. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please contact the pantry location closest to you to ensure your eligibility and verify service hours.

Monthly Food Box
Distribution in Warren

SVdP Northeast Ohio distributes monthly food boxes to individuals and families in need on the last Friday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Dining Hall on Niles Road in Warren. These distributions help neighbors access additional food support in a welcoming and dignified environment.

Each food box includes a variety of nutritious staples designed to provide several days of meals. By helping households stretch limited resources, this program offers both immediate relief and added stability during difficult times.

Food boxes are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Individuals interested in receiving a food box should bring a valid photo ID, along with the names and birth dates of all children and adults living in the household.

Harnett Pet Pantry
& Distributions

At SVdP Northeast Ohio, we understand that pets are family. For many of our neighbors, they provide comfort, support, and unconditional love – especially during difficult times.

Through our Conference food pantries and monthly drive-through distributions, we provide pet food and supplies to help ensure that no one has to choose between feeding themselves and caring for their animals. Monthly distributions are typically held on the third Wednesday at the Nick Parilla Dining Hall in Warren.

This program was founded and continues to be steadfastly supported by the Glenn and Jean Harnett Private Charitable Foundation, in honor of Jean Harnett’s wish to help families care for their beloved pets during times of hardship. Through this generosity, we are able to extend care not only to our neighbors, but to the animals who bring them comfort and companionship.
